Introduction
Source your next container of dried thyme bulk directly from Egypt — available as Whole Thyme Leaves, Rubbed Thyme, or Ground Powder, processed to meet your exact specifications for spice blending, industrial seasoning, herbal tea formulations, or nutraceutical manufacture.
Thyme is bought for thymol, and thymol sits in a place that makes handling decisive. The oil is held in glandular structures on the leaf surface rather than inside the tissue, so rough sieving physically ruptures the oil glands and the aroma is gone before the material reaches your line. Two lots can look identical in a bag and perform very differently in a blend.
That is why we hand-sieve rather than relying on mechanical agitation alone. It costs throughput, and it is the single biggest determinant of whether the thymol you paid for arrives intact.
Our thyme is sourced from established growing areas in Fayoum and Beni Suef, selected for high thymol content and vibrant grey-green leaves. All cleaning, rubbing, and preparation is handled in-house — never outsourced.
Pesticide residue testing is available with or without analysis, according to the requirements of the destination country. Our thyme is grown under conventional farming practices and is fully compliant with EU pesticide residue regulations, with verified residue levels ranging from 0.01 to 0.05 ppm.

Available Forms
Choose the form that best matches your processing requirements:
Thyme (Leaves) — the standard format for spice blends, including za’atar preparations. Coarsely broken leaf that disperses evenly through a mix without the density of ground material.
Ground / Powdered Thyme — fine-milled for industrial seasoning mixes, sauces, coating systems, and food processing where no visible leaf is wanted. Powdered thyme loses aroma faster than rubbed, so we mill close to dispatch.
Technical profile:
| Parameter | Specification |
| Visual profile | Greyish-green dried leaves |
| Aroma profile | Strong, pungent, herbaceous (high thymol) |
| Flavour profile | Earthy, minty, slightly spicy |
| Purity | 98–99% (mechanically and hand-sorted) |
| Moisture | 10% maximum (controlled to prevent mould and caking) |
| Shelf life | 24 months |
EIC Quality & Certifications
We stand behind the quality of our dried thyme because we build long-term supply partnerships.
For independent verification, we accept third-party inspection by SGS or another inspection company of your choice, at the buyer’s cost, covering quality and quantity.
Our certificates and registrations include:
- NFSA registered with the Egyptian Food Safety Authority
- ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 certified for quality and food safety management
- FDA, DUNS, GACC (China), and MFDS (Korea) registered
View our certificates and registrations for support with import compliance.
Controlled processing system:
- Careful hand selection and cleaning to remove foreign matter and thick stems
- Gentle hand sieving combined to preserve the oil glands — the step that protects thymol content
- Light Dust Removal: Light dust and fine impurities are carefully removed using manual zero sieves by our trained workers.
- Final magnetic screening for a metal-free product
- Moisture verification before packing
Grading standards are designed for industrial spice blending, extraction, and herbal applications rather than local trade practice.
Beyond certificates, we rely on our family experience and reputation. Our roots in the herb trade go back to 1960, beginning with our grandfather, with structured export operations since 2007. We protect that reputation with every shipment and seek lasting relationships with importers.

Supply Capacity & What Affects Thyme Price
Supply Capacity:
- MOQ: 1 × 20′ FCL 8 MT
- Regular monthly shipments
- High-volume capacity for long-term contracts and seasonal planning
- Consolidation available — thyme can ship alongside rosemary, sage, marjoram, and other leaf herbs in one container
What Affects Thyme Price:
- Leaf-to-stem ratio. Thick stems are removed at hand selection; they carry little aroma and dilute value per kilo. This is usually where competing quotes diverge.
- Handling quality. Gently sieved thyme with intact oil glands performs measurably better than roughly processed material that looks the same in a bag.
- Product form. Rubbed Thyme and Thyme powder are priced separately.
- Order volume, packaging configuration, and timing relative to the harvest season
Because thyme price varies according to these factors, we quote each shipment individually rather than publish a fixed rate. For better planning, check our Egyptian Herbs, Spices, Seeds & Legumes Harvest Calendar to understand seasonal timing. Send us your specifications and destination port for an accurate quotation within 24 hours.

FAQs
Who are we? We are a third-generation family business established in 2007, with family roots in the herb trade going back to 1960. We process our products in two facilities: manual processing for delicate products and mechanized sorting and processing.
What is thymol and why does it matter? Thymol is the principal aromatic compound in thyme, and it is what spice blenders, extract manufacturers and nutraceutical buyers are purchasing. It is held in glandular structures on the leaf surface, which is why the handling method affects it so directly.
Why does sieving method matter for thyme? Thyme’s oil sits in glands on the leaf surface rather than inside the tissue. Aggressive mechanical sieving ruptures those glands and releases the oil before the material reaches your production line. We hand-sieve to preserve them — it costs throughput, and it is the main reason two visually similar lots can perform very differently.
Can you provide thymol or volatile oil analysis? No. We do not provide thymol or volatile oil analysis.
What purity and moisture do you supply? 98–99% purity through hand sorting, and 10% maximum moisture, controlled specifically to prevent mould and caking during transit and storage.
Do you seek long-term relationships with buyers? Yes. We serve customers across 21 countries spanning the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Gulf region, and Australia. We want every first shipment, and every shipment that follows, to strengthen trust and build a lasting partnership.
Do you work with brokers or commission-based agents? No. We do not work with brokers or commission-based intermediaries. We deal directly with the consignee and the actual buyer.
How can I verify and follow my order before shipment? You can verify your order through a factory visit, video verification, or a third-party inspection (such as SGS) at the buyer’s expense. You can also follow your shipment through our export process. Explore Our Process
Do you supply the local market? No. We supply export markets only.
