Our Story

The Essence of EIC
Egypt has always been blessed with fertile soil, warm sunshine, and centuries of tradition in cultivating herbs, seeds, and spices. At EIC – Egyptian International Center for Export, we are proud to carry that heritage forward and share it with the world. Our story goes back to the 1960s, when our grandfather began trading crops, herbs, and legumes directly from major farms across Egypt. Through this work, he built strong relationships and partnerships with growers, supplying these raw products — without any processing — to some of the country’s largest factories.
Traditional Hand
Over time, our grandfather — together with the family — went beyond wholesale trading. He introduced the use of the traditional hand sieve to refine herbs. That simple tool transformed quality standards, pushing purity levels above 98%. Suddenly, He was no longer just selling raw crops to traders; He was supplying produced goods directly to factories in the local market, and day by day to the big exporter offices. It was a bold step that set the stage for everything that came after.
fields were more than land
We were born in Fayoum Governorate, in Ibshway District, in the village of Abo Gensho — right in the heart of the calendula fields. Those fields were more than land; they were the cradle of our childhood. We grew up breathing the scents of mint, fennel, caraway, and marjoram, not as distant crops but as part of our home, our family, and the rhythm of daily life. Fayoum and its neighboring governorates soon became the heartland of these treasures, and our earliest memories remain tied to their seasons, their harvests, and the timeless bond between soil and soul.
Today
as the third generation of this family, we carry that bond forward with pride. Out of this legacy, the Egyptian International Center for Export (EIC) was born in 2007 — the fifth family-owned company to grow from our roots — founded not just as a business, but as a continuation of a story that began in the fields decades ago, It marked the real beginning of our journey into the global market — one rooted in family tradition, honesty, and a passion for Egyptian herbs, spices, and legumes.

Our Core Departments

1. Sourcing Our procurement team
works hand-in-hand with Egyptian farmers, signing agricultural agreements that guarantee a year-round supply tailored to client needs. Thanks to the relationships built by our grandfather more than 60 years ago, we continue to work with trusted farms across Egypt. For us, quality doesn’t start in the factory — it starts in the raw material. And while many of our clients prefer contracted farming, we also buy the finest raw crops directly from Egypt’s top farms whenever needed, ensuring flexibility without ever compromising quality.
2. Manufacturing at EIC
At EIC for Export, our manufacturing process is conducted in full compliance with the guidelines of the Egyptian Food Safety Authority (NFSA), which are derived from the internationally recognized HACCP system. This ensures that every product we deliver meets the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and consistency. We proudly combine modern processing technologies with a traditional handcrafting heritage passed down through generations. While our advanced machinery provides precision and efficiency, we have maintained a dedicated manual processing section where selective hand-cleaning and sorting are performed to preserve the natural form, color, and aroma of delicate leafy and floral products. In addition, certain seed products undergo a final stage of manual cleaning and sorting after mechanical processing, ensuring the highest possible purity and uniform quality before packaging and export.
3. Quality Control
Our QC department is at the heart of what we do. Every batch is tested and monitored to meet strict international standards, while also aligning with the Egyptian National Food Safety Authority guidelines. This way, our clients always receive the trusted quality they expect — with the reassurance that it meets both local and global requirements.
4. Logistics & Support
We don’t just ship products; we make the process smooth and transparent. From documentation and certifications to export compliance, everything is handled with care.
