Introduction
Source your next container of bulk basil seeds directly from Egypt — available as Whole Basil Seeds or Basil Seed Powder, processed to meet your exact specifications for beverage manufacturing, food processing, or nutraceutical use.
Basil seed is bought for one property above all: mucilage. Dropped in water, the seed forms a clear gel coat within minutes, giving beverages a suspended texture that gums and stabilisers don’t replicate. That property depends on harvest maturity — seed cut early hydrates weakly and inconsistently, which shows up on your production line as batches that don’t match. We harvest at full maturity from contracted Nile Delta farms.
Ocimum basilicum seeds are carefully cleaned and optically sorted before shipment. Pesticide residue analysis is not routinely provided for this product.

Available Forms
Choose the form that best matches your processing requirements:
Whole Basil Seeds — Grade A, 99% purity — optically sorted for uniform black colour and consistent particle size, for beverage manufacturers and food processors buying basil seeds in bulk
Basil Seed Powder — finely milled for bakery blends, nutraceutical capsules, and gluten-free flour applications. Note that milling ruptures the mucilage layer, so powder behaves differently in water than whole seed — tell us the application, and we’ll advise on grind size.
Quality & Certifications
We stand behind the quality of our basil seeds because we build long-term supply partnerships.
For independent verification, we accept third-party inspection by SGS or another inspection company of your choice, at the buyer’s expense.
Our certificates and registrations include:
- NFSA registered with the Egyptian Food Safety Authority
- ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 certified for quality and food safety management
- FDA, DUNS, GACC (China), and MFDS (Korea) registered
These certificates and registrations support your import and compliance requirements.

Beyond certificates, we rely on our family experience and reputation. Our roots in the herb trade go back to 1960, beginning with our grandfather. We protect that reputation with every shipment and seek lasting relationships with importers.

9. FAQs
Q1. Who are we? We are a third-generation family business established in 2007, with family roots in the herb trade going back to 1960. We process our products in two facilities: manual processing for delicate products and mechanized sorting and processing.
Q2. Are basil seeds and chia seeds the same? No. Basil seed (Ocimum basilicum) is black, oval, and hydrates within minutes into a firm, clear gel. Chia (Salvia hispanica) is mottled grey-brown, hydrates more slowly, and forms a softer, cloudier gel. They are not interchangeable in a beverage formulation — basil seed holds its structure better in suspension.
Q3. What forms of basil seed do you supply? We supply Whole Basil Seeds in Grade A and standard grades, and Basil Seed Powder, for B2B buyers and industrial processors.
Q4. What is the MOQ? 10 metric tons for a full 20′ FCL. Basil seed can also be consolidated with other herbs and seeds in one container.
Q5. How can I verify and follow my order before shipment? You can verify your order through a factory visit, video verification, or a third-party inspection (such as SGS) at the buyer’s expense. You can also follow your shipment through our export process. Learn more about our Process
Q6. Do you seek long-term relationships with buyers? Yes. We serve customers across 21 countries spanning the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Gulf region, and Australia. We want every first shipment, and every shipment that follows, to strengthen trust and build a lasting partnership.
Q7. Do you supply the local market? No. We supply export markets only.
