Q2. Is lemongrass the same as citronella? Related but not the same. Lemongrass is Cymbopogon citratus or C. flexuosus; citronella is C. nardus or C. winterianus. They are in the same genus and smell similar, but they are distinct species with different compound profiles and different uses — citronella goes mainly into insect repellent and fragrance rather than tea or cooking.

Q3. Which cut should I order? TBC for tea bag filling lines; coarser cuts for loose infusion, culinary use and distillation; powder for seasoning blends, capsules and cosmetic formulation. Send a sample of what you currently buy if that is easier than writing a specification.

Q4. Do you supply lemongrass powder? Yes, milled to your mesh specification. Ground lemongrass loses citral — the lemon aroma compound — noticeably faster than cut material, so we mill close to dispatch rather than holding ground stock.

Q6. Why does drying method matter? Citral is volatile and leaves with heat. Controlled drying preserves both the aroma and the green colour; force-dried material tends to brown and performs noticeably weaker in the cup and in the still.

Q7. Why is the tonnage per container so low? Dried lemongrass is very low density — a 20′ container reaches its volume limit long before its weight limit. That is normal for dried leaf and grass products, and it affects your landed cost per MT, so packing format is worth discussing.
