Available Forms
Choose the form that best matches your processing requirements:
Sweet Lupin Seed — valued for its mild flavour and lower bitterness, making it suitable for snack production, brined lupini beans, food processing, and traditional cooked lupin products.
Bitter Lupin Seed — distinguished by its naturally bitter taste and requires debittering before consumption, making it suitable for traditional lupin preparation and processors operating soaking and debittering lines.
Quality & Certifications
We stand behind the quality of our lupin seeds because we build long-term supply partnerships.
For independent verification, we accept third-party inspection by SGS or another inspection company of your choice, at the buyer’s expense.
Our certificates and registrations include:
- NFSA registered with the Egyptian Food Safety Authority
- ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 certified for quality and food safety management
- FDA, DUNS, GACC (China), and MFDS (Korea) registered.
Review our full ISO and FDA certifications to streamline your import clearance.
Lupin Processing controls: Pre-cleaning to remove dust, straw, and other foreign matter; destoning and gravity separation; optical colour sorting to remove discoloured and defective seeds; metal detection before packing; and grinding to the buyer’s required specifications for ground orders.
Beyond certificates, we rely on our family experience and reputation. Our roots in the herb trade go back to 1960, beginning with our grandfather. We protect that reputation with every shipment and seek lasting relationships with importers.

Packaging, Shelf Life & Storage
Packing Configurations:
- 25 kg / 50 kg Polypropylene (PP) bags for standard bulk packing
- Customized B2B packing and private labelling available on request
Shelf Life: Up to 24 months when stored under recommended conditions. Ground lupin is best used within 12 months.
Storage Conditions: Store Lupin in a cool, dry environment, away from humidity and pests. Pulses are more vulnerable to insect activity than milled products, so fumigation and sealed storage matter.
Supply Capacity & What Affects Lupin Beans Price
Supply Capacity:
- MOQ: 1 × 20′ FCL. Lupin is dense, so containers reach weight capacity rather than filling by volume. 24 MT.
- Regular monthly shipping availability
- Contract-based programs for continuous annual-volume supply
What Affects Lupin Beans Price:
- Quality & Pricing: Lupin is available in different purity grades, such as 97% and 99%, with the price determined by the required grade.
Higher purity requires more intensive sorting and therefore commands a higher price. - Lupin Variety — sweet or bitter.
- Timing of the Order: Relative to the Lupin crop: Ordering Lupin during the harvest period can offer more competitive pricing. Learn about the Harvest Calendar
- Order volume, packaging configuration
Because lupin bean prices vary according to these factors, we quote each shipment individually rather than publish a fixed rate. For better planning, check our Egyptian Herbs, Spices, Seeds & Legumes Harvest Calendar to understand seasonal timing. Send us your specifications and destination port for an accurate quotation within 24 hours.

FAQs
Q1. Who are we? We are a third-generation family business established in 2007, with family roots in the herb trade going back to 1960. We process our products in two facilities: manual processing for delicate products and mechanized sorting and processing.
Q2. What is the difference between sweet and bitter lupin? Lupin seed contains quinolizidine alkaloids, which are bitter and toxic at sufficient doses. Sweet lupini beans come from low-alkaloid varieties bred for direct food use. Bitter lupin — including the traditional Egyptian termis — must be debittered by prolonged soaking and washing before it is edible. They are different products with different processing requirements and prices, so confirm which you need at the enquiry stage.
Q3. Is lupin an allergen? Yes. Lupin is one of the 14 named allergens under EU Regulation 1169/2011 and must be declared on labelling in the EU and UK. There is also documented cross-reactivity with peanut. We supply allergen documentation with every shipment.
Q4. What is termis? The Egyptian name for lupin, traditionally soaked, salted, and eaten as a snack — particularly at Sham el-Nessim. It is a long-established Egyptian crop, which is why the growing and handling knowledge here is genuine rather than recent.
Q5. Do you seek long-term relationships with buyers? Yes. We serve customers across 21 countries spanning the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Gulf region, and Australia. We want every first shipment, and every shipment that follows, to strengthen trust and build a lasting partnership.
Q6. Do you work with brokers or commission-based agents? No. We do not work with brokers or commission-based intermediaries. We deal directly with the consignee and the actual buyer.
Q7. How can I verify and follow my Lupin order before shipment? You can verify your order through a factory visit, video verification, or a third-party inspection (such as SGS) at the buyer’s expense. You can also follow your shipment through our export process. Explore Our Process
Q8. Do you supply the local market? No. We supply export markets only.
