What are the conditions of clover cultivation?
Clover with length of 16-20” and wide leaves can adapt with all sandy soils and salinity of soil.
It can produce heavy nitrogen on fertile soils.
Clover is grown in the warm season. In northern states it is cultivated in spring. And it is planted in summer over the year.
It can be cultivated in late summer and early autumn in the southern states to meet the winter needs.
It can be cultivated in August to meet the late summer needs in both northern and southern regions.
Clover is mowed when it reaches 14 inches long.
After mowing, clover grows again as an additional biomass from the crown.
To get the green manure in the soil, we can plough the soil or let the roots decompose on the surface of the soil.

How to plant it?
1. At first, prepare the soil.
2. Sprinkle the seeds by scattering half of the seeds while walking from north to south and the other half while walking from east to west.
3. Use the organic fertilizers after seeding in the poor soils.
4. While covering the seeds is not a necessary step of planting clover, you have to put seeds in depth of 1/4” if you want to cover it for the moisture maintenance. Topsoil, peat moss or sterilized straw  used to cover the seeds.
5. You should not cover the coated seeds in depth of more than 1/8″.
6. Keep seeds moist by using regular and gentle irrigation until germination.
7. In case of facing dry wave, irrigate the seeds more than once a day.
8. After the germination of seeds irrigate it deeply and reduce the number of irrigation times to keep deep roots and healthy meadow.
9. Mow the clover after it reach to the recommended height.
10. It takes about 3-6 weeks after seeding to be mowed. This period may be extended according to the cultivation conditions.
11. Use gentle mowing in the first times because seedlings are superfine.
12. Use the organic fertilizers to strengthen the growing process after mowing for many times.
