Introduction

Source your next container of bulk dill seeds directly from Egypt — available as Whole Dill Seed, Dill Seeds Powder for food, or even Sowing-Grade Seed, processed to meet your exact specifications for pickling, distillation, spice blending, or agricultural use.

Dill seed loses value the moment it is mishandled. Cut too late, and the seed shatters in the field. Dried too hot, and the carvone flashes off. Our family has worked the full chain in Fayoum since 1960 — harvest timing, threshing, drying, cleaning — which is why our dill seeds arrive with the essential oil content your spec sheet actually calls for.

Egyptian Anethum graveolens carries a high concentration of (S)-carvone and limonene, the two compounds that do the work in both flavour and extraction. For distillers, that means a higher oil yield per metric ton; for pickling processors, it means the flavour survives brining, pasteurisation, and a long shelf life.

Available Forms & Use

Choose the form that best matches your processing requirements:

Whole Dill Seed (spice grade) — machine-cleaned to 99% purity. The standard format for grinders, picklers, and spice blenders buying dill seed in bulk for their own lines.

Dill Seeds Powder — milled to your mesh specification and packed close to the shipping date, so the aroma is not spent in storage. Suited to seasoning blends, rubs, and processed foods where whole seed will not disperse evenly.

Sowing-Grade Seed — high-viability seed for agricultural importers and growers, supplied with germination data, ISTA certificate, and a phytosanitary certificate. Ships under HS 1209.91 rather than 0910.99.

EIC Quality & Certifications

We stand behind the quality of our dill seeds because we build long-term supply partnerships.

For independent verification, we accept third-party inspection by SGS or another inspection company of your choice, at the buyer’s expense.

Our certificates and registrations include:

  • NFSA registered with the Egyptian Food Safety Authority
  • ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 certified for quality and food safety management
  • HACCP applied through cleaning and packing
  • FDA, DUNS, GACC (China), and MFDS (Korea) registered

These certificates and registrations support your import and compliance requirements.

View our certificates and registrations for support with import compliance.

Beyond certificates, we rely on our family experience and reputation. Our roots in the herb trade go back to 1960, beginning with our grandfather. We protect that reputation with every shipment and seek lasting relationships with importers.

Packaging, Shelf Life & Storage

Packing Configurations:

  • 25 kg Polypropylene (PP) bags for standard bulk packing
  • 25 kg Multi-wall paper bags for added protection during handling and transit
  • Customized B2B packing available on request

Shelf Life: Up to 24 months for whole seed when stored under recommended conditions. Dill seed powder is best used within 12 months.

Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry environment below 25°C, protected from direct sunlight and humidity. Low humidity is what protects the essential oil content.

Supply Capacity & What Affects Dill Seed Price

Supply Capacity:

  • MOQ: 1 × 20′ FCL, 13 metric tons
  • Regular monthly shipping availability
  • Contract-based programs for continuous annual-volume supply
  • Consolidation available — dill can ship alongside coriander, fennel, anise or caraway in one container

What Affects Dill Seed Price:

  • Purity level and cleaning specification
  • Product form — whole seed, milled, or sowing grade
  • Order volume
  • Packaging configuration
  • Timing of the order relative to the harvest season

Because dill seed price varies according to these factors, we quote each shipment individually rather than publish a fixed rate. For better planning, check our Egyptian Herbs, Spices, Seeds & Legumes Harvest Calendar to understand seasonal timing. Send us your specifications and destination port for an accurate quotation within 24 hours.

FAQs

Q1. Who are we? We are a third-generation family business established in 2007, with family roots in the herb trade going back to 1960. We process our products in two facilities: manual processing for delicate products and mechanized sorting and processing.

Q2. What is the difference between dill seed and dill weed? Dill seed is the dried fruit — warm, sharp, caraway-adjacent, and it holds up to heat and brining. Dill weed is the green leaf, milder and grassier, used where a fresh herbal note is wanted. Different products from the same plant, and they are not interchangeable in a recipe. We supply both — see our bulk dill weed page for the leaf.

Q3. What are “dill weed seeds”? This is what buyers often search for when they want seed to grow dill for its leaves. That is our sowing grade, supplied separately with germination testing and a phytosanitary certificate. If you want the spice, you want whole dill seed rather than sowing stock.

Q4. Which HS code applies? 0910.99 for dill seed supplied as a spice or food ingredient, and 1209.91 for sowing-grade seed. Tell us the end use, and we will document it correctly.

Q5. Do you supply dill seed powder? Yes, milled to your requested mesh size shortly before shipping so the aroma stays intact. If you have grinding capacity, whole seed is usually the better purchase.

Q6. How can I verify and follow my order before shipment? You can verify your order through a factory visit, video verification, or a third-party inspection, such as SGS, at the buyer’s expense. You can also follow your shipment through our export process. Learn more about our Process

Q7. Do you seek long-term relationships with buyers? Yes. We serve customers across 21 countries spanning the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Gulf region, and Australia. We want every first shipment, and every shipment that follows, to strengthen trust and build a lasting partnership.

Q8. Do you supply the local market? No. We supply export markets only.
