Introduction
Source your next container of dried peppermint leaves directly from Egypt — available as Whole Leaf, Crushed, TBC, or Powder, processed to meet your exact specifications for herbal tea, essential oil distillation, confectionery flavouring, or cosmetic use.
Peppermint is bought for menthol, and menthol is volatile. That single fact governs everything about how the leaf should be handled: harvest timing, drying temperature, how gently it is sieved, and how soon after milling it ships. Leaf that has been force-dried or roughly handled looks similar in a bag and performs measurably worse in a cup or a still.
Pesticide residue testing is available with or without analysis, according to the requirements of the destination country. EU-compliant pesticide residue testing is available when required.

Available Forms
Choose the form that best matches your processing requirements:
Whole Leaf — intact dried leaf for premium tea packing and visible-botanical applications. Packed in cartons to prevent crushing.
Crushed Peppermint — the highest-volume format. Cut to your specified size for herbal tea blends, infusions, and industrial use. Bulk crushed peppermint is what most tea blenders order.
TBC (Tea Bag Cut) — sized for automated tea bag filling lines. Tell us the particle range your equipment runs.
Peppermint Powder — fine-milled for confectionery, flavouring systems, capsules and cosmetic formulation. Ground material loses menthol fastest, so we mill close to dispatch.
Quality & Certifications
We stand behind the quality of our dried peppermint because we build long-term supply partnerships.
For independent verification, we accept third-party inspection by SGS or another inspection company of your choice, at the buyer’s expense.
Our certificates and registrations include:
- NFSA registered with the Egyptian Food Safety Authority
- ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 certified for quality and food safety management
- FDA, DUNS, GACC (China), and MFDS (Korea) registered
View our certificates and registrations for support with import compliance.
Processing controls: harvest timed at peak oil content before the plant coarsens; controlled drying at managed temperature and airflow, since heat drives off menthol and browns the Peppermint leaf; threshing and destemming to separate leaf from stem, which carries little aroma and dilutes value per kilo; gentle low-friction sieving to limit fines and preserve leaf structure; magnetic screening for metallic particles; and moisture verification before packing.
Beyond certificates, we rely on our family experience and reputation. Our roots in the herb trade go back to 1960, beginning with our grandfather. We protect that reputation with every shipment and seek lasting relationships with importers.
Shipping, Export Coordination & Documentation
Shipping & Logistics:
- FOB, CFR, and CIF Incoterms, with loading from Port Said, Alexandria, Damietta, and Sokhna ports
- Cost-effective shipping arrangements through our freight partners
Export Documentation:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Certificate of Origin (COO)
- Official Phytosanitary Certificate
- Bill of Lading (BL)
- Pesticide residue analysis when required by the destination country
- Fumigation Certificate when required
- War Risk Insurance for 40′ containers, covered by EIC
Silica gel is placed inside the container to help control humidity and protect the quality of the peppermint during transit.
Packaging, Shelf Life & Storage
Packing Configurations:
- Cartons — recommended for whole leaf, to prevent compression into fines
- 20 kg Polypropylene (PP) or kraft paper bags with inner liner — for crushed, TBC and powder
- Customized B2B packing available on request
Shelf Life: Up to 24 months when stored under recommended conditions. Peppermint powder is best used within 12 months.
Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry environment below 20°C, protected from direct sunlight and humidity. Heat drives off menthol and light fades the green colour, so storage conditions matter more than the calendar date.
Supply Capacity & What Affects Peppermint Price
Supply Capacity:
- MOQ: 1 × 20′ FCL. Dried Peppermint leaf is very low density, so a container fills by volume well before weight — expect modest tonnage per 20’ FCL: 1.50 MT for whole leaves; up to 6 MT for crushed or TBC forms.
- Regular monthly shipping availability
- Contract-based programs for continuous annual-volume supply
- Consolidation available — peppermint can ship alongside spearmint, chamomile, lemongrass, and other leaf products in one container
What Affects Peppermint Price:
- Leaf-to-stem ratio — stem carries little aroma and dilutes value per kilo, so destemmed leaf prices above cut material with stem
- Cut size and particle consistency — TBC and finer cuts require additional sieving
- Product form — whole leaf, crushed, TBC, or powder
- Order volume and packaging configuration
- Timing of the order relative to the harvest season
Because peppermint price varies according to these factors, we quote each shipment individually rather than publish a fixed rate. For better planning, check our Egyptian Herbs, Spices, Seeds & Legumes Harvest Calendar to understand seasonal timing. Send us your specifications and destination port for an accurate quotation within 24 hours.

FAQs
Q1. Who are we? We are a third-generation family business established in 2007, with family roots in the herb trade going back to 1960. We process our products in two facilities: manual processing for delicate products and mechanized sorting and processing.
Q2. What is the difference between peppermint and spearmint? Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is menthol-dominant — sharp and cooling. Spearmint (Mentha spicata) is carvone-dominant — sweeter and softer, the mint used in Middle Eastern and North African tea and cooking. They are different species and not substitutable. Confirm which your specification means before ordering. See our bulk spearmint leaves page for the other.
Q3. Which cut should I order? Crushed or cut for herbal tea blending and infusion; TBC for automated tea bag lines; whole leaf where the botanical is visible in the pack; powder for flavouring systems, capsules and cosmetics. Send a sample of what you currently buy if that is easier than writing a specification.
Q4. Do you sell peppermint candy? No. We supply dried peppermint leaves as a bulk botanical ingredient — the raw material a confectionery manufacturer would flavour with, not finished mints.
Q5. Can you provide menthol or volatile oil data? No. We do not provide menthol or volatile oil data.
Q6. Why is the tonnage per container so low? Dried Peppermint leaf, or even crushed, has very low bulk density — a 20′ container reaches its volume limit long before its weight limit. Normal for leaf herbs, and packing format affects landed cost per kilo.
Q7. Do you seek long-term relationships with buyers? Yes. We serve customers across 21 countries spanning the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Gulf region, and Australia. We want every first shipment, and every shipment that follows, to strengthen trust and build a lasting partnership.
Q8. How can I verify and follow my order before shipment? You can verify your order through a factory visit, video verification, or third-party inspection such as SGS at the buyer’s expense. You can also follow your shipment through our export process. Explore Our Process
Q9. Do you supply the local market? No. We supply export markets only.
